Today I visited Centre Val-Santé, a fasting retreat about 70 km away from Montreal, hoping I would go there for a few days at the end of my 7-day-fast planned for the end of May-beginning of June.

The center is rated "**" (2 stars).
It is located on nicely landscaped grounds, yet adjacent to road 125North. While taking a walk around the little pond behind their building, we could still hear the racing cars on the road.
The building is very modest, not modern at all, with a claustrophobic indoor swimming pool whose size is that of a slightly oversized Jacuzzi, un-cozy rooms that share two-by-two the same bathroom, and a "therapeutic room" in the basement which was equipped with a bed used for both colonics and massages...
After clarifying with the nurse if they offer organic juices or green-grass therapy (to break my fast with) she said that actually they bring their organic juices from Montreal and use frozen green juices instead of freshly squeezed ones.
So, after visiting the facility I decided against
hospitalizing myself there ... why driving all the way there to be staying in a depressing room, sharing a bathroom with unknown people walking in pajamas around the premises, drinking some frozen juices that I could buy at the Health Store in Montreal and ... having a massage on the same table/bed where a person just had some colonics done before me???
On the second thought, I'd rather opt for the 4 stars Eastman SPA, pay the full price while drinking only their freshly squeezed juices to break my fast. I guess the company of their clients dressed in white robes would more tolerable than having to keep my thoughts not distracted by the clients at Val-Santé dressed in colorful pajamas; besides, the location of SPA Eastman in the middle of the woods provides tons of relaxation whereas at Val Santé it would be hard to ignore the traffic noise on the adjacent 125North road...

Maybe I'm too picky, but I cannot relax in a place that doesn't inspire ...PERFECTION
Here is a picture from today's expedition - Mamahuana inspecting the premises :lol
