I have seen some rather dramatic responses of Vitiligo to fasting. The problem is however that by the time vitiligo becomes apparent, a lot of irreversible damage has already been done. The underlying mechanisms- an auto-immune attack on your own "melanocytes" (colour producing cells) cause these cells to be permanently destroyed and as they are "permanent" cells, that is, no longer dividing, there are no natural replacements.
Fasting can therefore only help to rescue those cells still alive, even if some of them have been damaged to the extent of having stopped producing melanin. Unfortunately in most cases it is a partial reversal only.
Preventing further antibodies from forming, one needs to consider a vegan diet, as any animal product could conceivably contain elements capable of re-triggering the immune response to these cells.

It will be interesting or even fascinating to see if anyone can come up with some literature or a case study to show that the body can rebuild or replace the melanocytes (colour producing cells)

I agree it would be an astounding discovery if we were to find Melanocytes regrowing or starting to divide again. They have been labelled "permanent cells" by anatomists for centuries.
But so has brain cells.. until very recently (with the advent of functional MR imaging) we believed that once you lose a brain cell, that's it. You have so many and cannot grow new ones. Now it has been shown that by simply using your brain you can cause the neurons (the really active functional brain cells) to start growing and multiplying again.
Hopefully one day the same will be said about Melanocytes.. please if anyone can photograph vitilligo, follow the fasting ways for a while and take comparative photographs, this could be a really meaningful study!
