Body Odor 1 Year, 4 Months ago
|
|
|
Hi again.
I tried to find a board here that pertained most closely to body odor, I guess this is the closest one to general hygiene. I really wanted a word from a doctor on this subject, since it's been driving me insane.
It's hard to figure out where to start here, so I guess I'm going to be all over the place.
I get signs from people that I smell. I think the signs are fairly clear. People tend to sniff sharply when I come close, others hold their breath, and make a crap-eating face like they want to puke. There is much coughing, sneezing, and clearing of throats. The psychiatrist I go to tells me that these signs are all circumstantial, and pretty much tells me that my observations are irrelevant, and that this is a fixed belief. Fixed, not false, mind you. I like how psyche docs play games with words.
I'm trying to come up with a logical argument paper to try and get across that I'm not crazy, and that my observations aren't irrelevant. But I don't think he'd want to see that. He just wants to keep me sick, I'm convinced. They're nuts. I hate them. They're keeping me sick, and making me want to kill myself, because what they're telling me by denying that I smell is that there's no way to cure it, so they just won't do anything for me. They're made of suck and fail.
Some info: I shower twice a day with antibacterial soap, and don't wear the same clothes twice without washing them with generic detergent. I don't smell anything, but apparently other people do, although they lack the guts to tell me to my face. Sometimes after about twenty hours have passed and I haven't defecated, My rectum will begin to smell like feces. It's not necessarily connected to the urge to defecate, although defecation will make the smell go away, if it hasn't already stained my clothes.

I agree with Peace Seeker.
Some remarks:
1. Using antibacterial soap can cause you to develop an odour. Bear in mind that bacteria are essential to healthy skin.. we carry between 100 000 and a million friendely bacteria per square centimeter on the skin. These grow one layer thick and acts like grass on a lawn.. if you remove them, you create an open invitation for the abnormal (smelly) bacteria to take their place. This was discussed in some detail in another forum.
2. The skin is an organ of elimination. If it does its job properly, some smelly toxins will be eliminated onto the skin. You need only pure water to remove it. If you like the idea of lather or bubbles, pure glycerine is OK, but I don't recommend antiseptics or antibacterials.
3. You should get a confidante, someone really caring, to be honest with you and inform you if you really do smell. Pets like dogs are of course much more sensitive and could give you an answer also if you observe them closely.
4. The human nose has the ability to "accomomodate", that is, if a smell is persistent it blocks that out, so that you can perceive any changes. That's why we usually do not smell ourselves.
I all brutal honesty, it does appear to an outsider as if you could be a bit pre-occupied with this issue, which could explain the psychiatrist's response. People have a tendency to jump to conclusions... even doctors do.
Don't give up hope. You'll find a lot of support here. Fasting could well be part of your solution, as you tend to eliminate potential odours during a fast, particularly if you combine it with regular and intensive cycles of Hydrotherapy for elimination purposes.
With best wishes for a solution.

I should get a new psychiatrist? To be honest they all seem the same to me, all too willing to perform chemical lobotomies on anyone and everyone. I'm only seeing him because I have to to maintain my benefits.
1+2 Alright, I've been off the antibacterial soap for a couple weeks. I'm a little stumped though for what to use as deodorant. Everyone I've looked at has alchohol or some antiseptic in it. I tried going without deodorant, but my underarms got smelly too quickly. Is there like a probiotic deodorant or something that I should know about?
How many showers am I supposed to take a day?
3. The problem there is that if a person is very caring, they'll just tell me whatever they think will prevent me from going crazy. Honestly, I have no friends, and no one I can trust apart from family, and none of them are willing to admit that I smell or else their own sense of smell is poor. As for dogs, don't they all like to sniff people up and down, or is that just for me because I smell?
Number four is the basis for the idea that I smell, because I don't smell much of anything normally, except normal body odor when I haven't showered for a while.
I don't know, it's hard to stay hopeful when I have no plan and no way to get better, and nothing ever seems to get better. You told me some time ago that fasting shouldn't be for me unless I do it in a facility (not an option as I have no money). This is due to the other medications and conditions I have. Geodon and Hypothryoidism. So nothing looks like it's going to change anytime soon, and I'm losing the gumption to do anything at all, let alone something about all this.
Sorry for the laundry list of answers, it would've been hard to organize if I didn't do it that way.

Thanks for the replies.
1. You mention you don't know what to use for deodorant. Well, I have never used deodorant in my life. Perhaps therefore I am not qualified to recommend any, although I read in these same forums some people use pure lemon.
2. I would bath or shower maximum once daily, sometimes only every second or third day.
3. If you have NO friends, and NO one you can trust, and NONE are willing to admit what you believe, you have to accept that your assumption regarding smell could be wrong.. else EVERYONE else is..
Geodon is known to increase sweating in a small percentage of people using it. But then also, its other side effects are more common.. yet it is a good drug where used appropriately. Thyroid hormone is a VERY succesful replica of the original (human) form so that should casue no side effects if used within normal limits.
I am still of the opinion that, should you decide to employ a fast as part of a cure, this needs be done under professional and experienced supervision.
Really hope you get better. Think about you quite a lot.

Dr. Andre, while googling in search of "Dolomite tablets" since you mentioned Dolomite on this site a few times, incidentally I came across this:
"It would seem, therefore, that with dolomite, good nutrition, and sufficient exercise, and without certain organic disease conditions, most underarm, stool, and foot odor could be eliminated."
from
MAGNESIUM'S EFFECT ON BODY ODORS- Chapter 17 in the book
MAGNESIUM, THE NUTRIENT THAT COULD CHANGE YOUR LIFE by
J. I. RODALE with HARALD J. TAUB published in June 1971 and uploaded in 2001 on www.mgwater.com/rod17.shtml
So, apparently, Dolomite (the magnesium in it) could help with the elimination of body odors?!
Dr. Andre, did you notice any effects in this sense (what is described in this article) while monitoring your patients?
Thanks in advance for your response!

Thank you Professor Mamahuana! I was blissfully unaware of this connotation between magnesium an odours. Reading and thinking about it, it does make a lot of sense. And perhaps because my Hydro is located in the Dolomites, our water saturated with this mineral, may be one reason why detoxifying patients seldom if ever complain about odours!
I find this fascinating, will likely do some research on it.. I have checked about 6000 patients' blood magnesium levels while here over a 16 year period and did indeed find a meaningful increase. This is one reason why their energy levels increase: Magnesium is intimately involved with the energy metabolism.
But I would still not use Magnesium Chloride as it is not balanced with Calcium. Dolomite (as mentioned in the article) is perfectly natural and will remain my first choice. Perhaps some willing guinea pigs from fastingconnection would be willing to take dolomite during a fast and report their experiences with us..?

I would like to volunteer to take dolomite during my fasts (last 7-day-fast I had awful leg cramps) yet I cannot find a supplier here in Canada. I am going to google again to see if anyone from abroad would ship into here ...
Plus my perspiration takes a strong, unpleasant smell when I get my periods ... would be interesting to see if Dolomite would help with my problems.

I have found
www.trophic.net/products/minerals.html
in Canada, yet I am not convinced it is the natural Dolomite ... maybe they just use this name instead of Calcium Carbonate ... plus they have added some other stuff which I do not need (Kelp, etc.)
Calcium Magnesium with C & E
DESCRIPTION:
For the maintenance of good health.
Assists in regulating acid-alkaline balance in the blood.
Helps to calm nervous tension and aids in sleep by controlling the contraction and relaxation of the heart.
Aids bone growth and helps to regulate body temperature. Promotes the absorption of Phosphorus, Sodium and Potassium
MEDICINAL INGREDIENTS
Dolomite supplying
Calcium……………………………..165 mg
Magnesium………………………….103 mg
Kelp supplying
Iodine……………………………….. 32 mcg
Vitamin D3 ……………………………67 IU
Glutamic Acid HCl…………………..30 mg
Bromelain…………………………….17 mg
Vitamin C…………………………….15 mg
Rose Hips……………………………. 5 mg
DIRECTIONS: Adults, three tablets daily or as directed by a health care practitioner
Question: How one would know if the supplier sells the naturally occuring limestone dolomite vs creating it in a lab??

Just a thought Mahahuana,
Have you thought of purchasing the Dolomite rock in its natural state and then crushing it into powder and then adding it to your drinking water? You could also add it to a remineralization filter in an undersink RO system.
www.mineralszone.com/minerals/dolomite.html
I can also send you some from the UK if you find a trustworthy source.

I agree with you David.. I live on the dolomites so my water is saturated with this lovely natural mineral. It is indeed unfortunate that the factories consider themselves better equipped than Mother Nature to decide what should be in there. Indeed if I could grind up our dolomites to a platable powder that is what I would have suggested for those not getting it in their natural environment. Passing RO water through dolomite powder is, I think, an excellent idea!

Sorry, I don't know what an RO system is
It sounds simple, yet complicated to install (under the sink, maybe change it once in a while, etc etc)
David, thanks for offering your help. It's really appreciated, as it looks that all the Dolomite tablets available out there are coming from UK...
Here I found some tablets made from powdered dolomite and free of all kind of synthetics and weird concoctions:
www.herbsgardenshealth.com/Antioxidant_A...m_800mg_Dolomite.htm
yet, they are saying "Choose your ship zone (SORRY, NO U.S. OR CANADA)"
I will search for more options and PM you to see if you could ship me some drugs (I am already addicted to this website, so next step is to get me dependent on you and "your" Dolomite )

Certainly Mahahuana I will order and post to you, but please just specify exactly what you want product code and quantity. Perhaps this is a potential product for the FC shop with the option of shipping to Canada.
Personally as I have experience of cutting, grinding and pulverizing all kinds of stones, I don't see any difficulty in ordering a Dolomite rock from a mineral shop and just crushing it with a sterilized hammer and then completing the job in a pestle and mortar. The other idea is to use a conventional undersink filter it does not have to be an RO (reverse osmosis) system but I think they are the best as they remove 99% of all impurities, and then you can purchase an empty remineralization cartridge where you can add fragments of Dolomite rock. This will re-saturate the water with the minerals you want rather than what your local water board is giving you. Admittedly a little complicated and you would probably need a plumber or handyman to do this for you.
However like I said I will be more than happy to encourage your addictions and dependencies to the site and the UK
Presumably you wouldn't even need to pulverize a dolomite rock just suck on a small piece of it like a lolly.

This is the filter I use when installing filters for friends and clients.
www.earthwisewater.co.uk/index.php/Earth...filter-solution.html
The main 3 cartridges need changing every 6 months and you can get a carbon filter which can remove Chloramine which is the latest thing the authorities are adding to water. It replaces Chlorine. It is more problematic as it does not evaporate as easily as Chlorine, so you can't just leave a jug of water out overnight to get rid of it.

I don't want to be a pain in the ... dolomite but I have to ask this: what about taking some egg shells from organically grown hens and transform them (the egg shells, not the hens )into powder then add that powder into drinks, etc? This solution sounds natural, biocompatible, cheap and doable to me.
They contain calcium carbonate (just as the dolomite) yet I am not sure if they contain any magnesium ... though, from my point of view they should ...

Most definitely this is an excellent "supplement" Mamahuana.. but indeed its Magnesium content is low:
www.serve.com/BatonRouge/nutrition/eggshell.htm
Now please I don't want to be a salesperson for any supplement as I simply don't believe in them.. I only suggest Dolomite for those who would be uncomfortable if they don't "supplement". The main advantage is that it is not absorbed unless your body needs it. And the fossils here where I live does indicate that our ancestors lived on the dolomites about 2 million years ago. So we are likely genetically adapted to that.

Sorry, the link above doesn't work ...
So, the calcium carbonate found in the egg shells vs the one found in dolomite will get (all) absorbed regardless body needs??
Thanks again for clarifications.

Re:Body Odor 9 Months ago

About two weeks ago I ordered a supply of dolomite tablets from a company called Nature's Own. I did the usual Google search and was disappointed to find just how unavailable this product is. So tried ebay and this is where I made my purchase. I have been taking the 500mg tablets for nearly 5 days now and already feel different. Only time will tell if these tablets get all the praise. What is different:
1. Less fatigue
2. Need less sleep can get by on 4-5 hours.
3. Improved skin tone this is really noticeable.
4. My muscles feel more primed and ready for action.
5. Much less if any mental fog.
Surely taking a few Dolomite tablets can't be responsible for all the above, but perhaps for at least one of those items.
Thank you Dr Kruger for underscoring the significance of Dolomite I am so pleased to have discovered it and I have also started to give it to the kids!

Hi there mamahuana! Well I have been taking them and giving them to the kids too, but honestly can't say that I feel any different. It is one of those things that I guess one has to use blind faith.
Are you still researching it?

Hi David, I have found another soulution for body odor meanwhile.
well.ca/green/products/weleda-citrus-deo...related_product=9537
I find this product on the shelfs of most health stores here in Montreal and I consider myself lucky to have discovered it !!!
it does wonders for me, as I don't have to rub lemons under my armpits aymore
I have to see about the Dolomite Calcium ... if I really need it, I mean. Be well!

Thanks for that I had just discovered that cider vinegar under the armpits works for me, but moreover it seems to nourish the skin too and make it more flexible. I have been spraying it on arms and torso for the past few days, and I could swear that my skin is more flexible and shiny!! Need to do conduct more experiments.

I've been always using vinegar on my hair - last rinse - as it makes it less static and very shiny.
After reading Bragg's books, I tried the vinegar on my armpits as well - the result was just some kind of vinegary fermented smell Haven't tried the vinegar on my torso yet to see if it wil get polished ----> I must also conduct more experiments

My first thought after reading Todd's post was: "What do you eat?"
I used to have foot odor and underarm issues for years until I totally cut out soda and processed foods (and meat, my prerogative) from my diet a few years ago. Now I don't have that issue unless I've gone on a serious coffee binge.
My sister feeds her children pizza, fast food and all sorts of processed foods on a daily basis. When those children come over, I am always shocked at how bad they smell, even after I bathe them.
I'm sure there are other factors involved, but I believe that the crud being passed off as food these days is a huge culprit when it comes to body odor.
