Holiday Fast: Day Three - Musing and Boxing Day comes earlyPosted by: kimberly183 on Nov 29, 2009 Tagged in: Untagged

We only had one planned eating event for the next couple of weeks, and that was last night. So, I ate a little. Special dishes had been prepared for me, and I found it rude not to be grateful.
That having been said, I truly put forth much optimism about fasting for the coming weeks. I know I need this fast. I can feel it in my body and my spirit. I also thought about why I am doing this fast . . . not only for a readjustment to conscious eating, but also in the spirit of those who do not have enough this season. Our state is ravaged by the highest unemployment rate in the country. Our dependence on the automotive industry is once again our downfall.
My husband and I, for those of you who are not aware, just moved in August. Following the move, 4 sets of 'things & stuff' were brought together: my husband's things from his house, my things I used at his house, my things I stored at his house and did not use, and the items up here in my home state's storage unit (we now live in my home state). I decided, with all my spare time not spent cooking & eating, I am having Boxing Day early; I'm going through all of my things and giving most of them away. I refuse, however, to give away my smaller clothing. THAT is my goal - back to 4s and 6s. I should give away all of my current-sized clothing to force me to keep focused! LOL "Twould be a mighty cold winter if I didn't stay on track!
A few years ago, I had a Christmas party where I asked everyone to bring old sweaters, gloves, coats, or food items to make the season bright. These were donated to the homeless shelter in the city where I was living then. I think I may do that again this year.
The one thing which saddens me is the fact I had a minor back injury last weekend. It makes exercise difficult. I can't wait to get back on THAT track, too!
Okay, I have rambled enough. Happy Sunday to all of you! And best wishes to my fasting friends - stay strong!

Thanks for sharing and hope the back mends quick.
