Eating raw organic vegetables and subacid fruits is probably the ideal staple diet. This ideal staple diet would also include raw organic potatoes and avocados - for macronutrients. Correct me if I'm wrong, but 'subacid fruit' is referring to non-acidic fruits?

I don't think there is one ideal diet that works for everyone. Subacid is a category of fruit. I think if you look up natural hygiene you will be able to find the listing. It comes from the food combining theory.

True. I probably should have said that this is the ideal staple diet for myself. :)

I looked up Natural Hygiene and came across an article by Stephen Barrett MD on QuackWatch.com. He says that Natural Hygiene's "recommended avoidance of dairy products is an invitation to osteoporosis." He is full of shit. Humans were not meant to consume dairy products. It's simple logic: baby humans drink human milk; baby cows drink cow milk; baby goats drink goat milk; and so on. Furthermore, the best foods for strengthening bones and teeth are raw organic green vegetables, not dairy products - as the governmental "nutrition guidelines" recommend. Bullshit.

Thanks for this topic link :) I tend to agree with you re your take on Dr Barett's conclusions. However I must also add that QuackWatch is probably not the best authority on Natural Hygiene. Have you looked at these links: naturalhygienesociety.org www.iahp.net

Here is a link of an article in French on several fruits and vegetables to avoid due to their high content in Sugar (generic): These are: Pineapples, oranges, bananas and Grapes (which top the list on fruits high in Fructose) as well as potatoes, rice, pulses and cereals. The latter four items contain high levels of starch which transform into glucose when mixed with saliva and other digestive enzymes.

Don't forget to use your own common sense and biofeedback when it comes to so called scientific articles offering nutritional advice. I do believe that we are all very different and therefore what applies to one may not apply to another.
