Having experimented over the years/months I have established a routine that works well for me. I eat just once a day usually in the evening - and sometimes I skip that too.

It requires no effort since I am never hungry. It allows me to be sociable and I am saving a ton of money!

I do find it remarkable that when you are used to fasting hunger disappears! All those obese people need to discover that. I used to be hungry when I ate by the clock - breakfast, lunch, snacks, dinner etc.

Welcome to the forums dear Blueash! What you mention here is a very general experience, very valid indeed. Our ancient ancestors typically slept after eating to maximize efficient digestion and energy conservation. Do bear in mind a real fast only typically starts about 24 hours after the last meal so the days you really skip, well, they're quite important also.

Blueash,

Your routine is almost identical to what I did for many years en route to discovering what true fasting is as a way of life. I too used to eat one meal-per-day (in the evening), until such time as I decided to give that up. And it wasn't very difficult to do that, even the first time I tried it. So at that point, I had (after a night's sleep) in the neighborhood of 32-40 hours of fasting (depending when I ate the previous day) under my belt from having skipped that one evening meal. :)

Happy fasting!
